Image resolution requirement on iphone & ipad - AppStore rejection

I submitted my app to AppStore and got rejected with the following reason:

>10.6 >We found the user interface of your app is not of sufficient quality to be >appropriate for the App Store. Apps that provide a poor user experience are *>not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. *

it is due to about 14 png images (about 8k each) i created as icon on screen with dimension 83 x 85 pixel viewed well on iphone but loss in quality when enlarge in ipad screen.

If i have to include larger size image into the \Resource folder to ensure it fits ipad and resize smaller for iphone, it'll sure increase the size of the app binary. Is there any better way to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance.

One option is to download the assets on first run and store them.

  • Thanks Stephen, will definitely adopt your suggestion if i compare the binary difference is significant.

I dont think increasing the images to a better resolution for only 14 images is really going to make a difference.
