What about Bluetooth?

Titanium is awesome, I love the api, but I don't see anything for bluetooth... Bluetooth access (for iPhone) is also missing from other comparable products, like PhoneGap. Is it not possible to access the iPhone Bluetooth without using expressive-C ?

  • Any news on BT support? According to roadmap http://developer.appcelerator.com/doc/mobile/roadmap this was planned for July 2010? Or is it 2011?

  • That module is just for iOS and last commit was about one year go... Ideally should be a module for both oses with possibility to even connect ios to android via bluetooth. So.. any news?

This is something we have on the list. We have working networking set of apis that have been worked on but didn't make the testing cut for 1.0. This includes bonjour support for iphone. We should bring that code in soon now that 1.0 is out.

  • Great. This was 10 months ago. Are there any plans to release bluetooth support soon?

  • It's been a year. Anything?

  • I'm looking at Titanium for an app I've been planning. Bluetooth is absolutely essential though. Any word?

2 years old. No planned support apparently. Titanium is half baked / Aptanta is great, though version 2 seemed more friendly than 3. Apparently, customer service is null. Why no response here? Integrity is lacking.

This was worked on 9 months ago but isn't in yet? Can we get an update on where you are with Bluetooth support? Thanks!

There is apparently going to be no Bluetooth support here. False promises.

Hi, we have recently received an Android module for this purpose: Android Bluetooth. You can use this module to send/receive data across a variety of Bluetooth devices. We have included a trial version for your convenience. Thank you!

To answer the original poster and the subsequent posters, Logical Labs has released 2 Bluetooth modules for Titanium in the Appcelerator Marketplace.

  • BT LE iOS module https://marketplace.appcelerator.com/apps/3834?2063287747
  • BT Classic Android module https://marketplace.appcelerator.com/apps/5221?259328472

What Bluetooth features do the APIs support?

Of specific interest to us is standard serial over bluetooth.

Thanks
