I'm building internal apps and yes I have iOS Enterprise. I'm curious to know what people are doing for app distribution above what Apple offers (using iTunes or posting on a website).

I'm pretty sure that the methods you'll hear most are TestFlight and Hockey. Each has a unique way to distribute your apps, depending on if you want a service to handle it or if you want to have more control over it yourself.

Thanks Anthony! Just at a first glance this looks pretty good for testing. What about after testing when you want to manage the distribution to the entire enterprise.

  • There are a number of enterprise stores out there that you can test out, but honestly, I've never tried any of them. A quick search for 'enterprise app stores' will probably yield a number of results. I partnered and did a conference last year with AppCentral and they had a pretty good offering then, so I can only assume its been getting better. They offer some true enterprise offerings on top of just distribution. Things like ACLs and department breakdown for multiple in-house apps, as well as things like remote wipe and the like. Beyond them, I wouldn't be able to offer much more advice.

  • Yea, Google is great but getting feedback from developers that have already did some vendor research is helpful. If only help get the cream of the crop to the top faster :) Thanks for your input.
