I selected something in the open marketplace and suddenly something was downloaded onto my computer. There was no instructions. I just have a zip file. What do I do with it? Am I supposed to know this already? How would I have learned about what to do with this zip file? I can't find any information about it.

You need to familiarize yourself with the Using Titanium Modules section from the Titanium Guides.
From there, you should be able to integrate a module into your app.
