Appcelerator SMTP acs settings

Hi all,

Has anyone got the Email to work in ACS? I'm really struggling to set up a smtp email in acs. My domain server is ipage and I am using the following settings:

Username: me@mydomain.com Password: xxxxxxx

Smtp server: smtp.mydomain.com Port : 587

Tsl: no

Having the same problem, I get the info from my BlueHost email SMTP:

SMTP Address: boxxxx.bluehost.com and Port: 465 username: user+domain password: password TSL: Yes

I click Save SMTP, then I get a Popup up to inset my email? I placed both the one of the account holder on ACS On Save & Verify (it does its thing) then i get a message: SMTP Check Failed. execution expired

Another try, I enter the email address of the SMTP's account and get the same error.

Anybody figured this out?

  • Joseph try Port number as 587, as 587 seems to be the universal port for smptp. F.Y.I I was able to successfully get gmail to work on this, but not from my host iPage

  • Actually this dosen't work with Gmail... when i logged in back into that gmail account they gave me the "unusual activities" notice - yet I just wanted to the tesy the SMTP if it would work with my app. no emails went through with smtp.gmail...
