Not a question more a wonder if this is of use.
I have created a generic, MVC based commonJS architecture example application, which creates and uses a custom menu and Navigation bar.
It is a cross platform, IOS and Android compatible and works the same for both, handling all the opening and closing of windows and the back functionality.
All the code and images are available for use and downloadable from bitbucket here ....
