New Wunderlist Case Study: iPhone App of the Week Built on Titanium

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Over the past two months Wunderlist has become a phenomenon in the crowded productivity tool category – with users downloading the app more than one million times and logging more than 7 million tasks.

  • Wunderlist was built for iPhone, Android, iPad, and desktop using a single development platform – Appcelerator Titanium
  • Up to 90% of the Titanium code was reused when developing for additional devices
  • The app was developed and launched on five different device platforms within four months
  • “Titanium let us reuse up to 90% of our code when we expanded from desktop to iPhone to iPad and Android,” says Christian Reber, CEO and Founder of 6Wunderkinder.

Appcelerator’s Aptana PyDev wins “Best Developer Tool” from the Eclipse Foundation

Friday, March 25th, 2011

As many of you know, we acquired Aptana earlier this year. Their Studio 3 product rocks … and apparently we aren’t the only ones who think so. The Eclipse Foundation declared PyDev, the Python Development Environment which is part of Aptana Studio 3, as “Best Developer Tool: A commercial or open source product that provides an innovative, high quality tool for software developers.” We were chosen by a panel of judges including Eclipse-oriented editors and Eclipse project leaders.

Way to go, PyDev development team!

And speaking of Aptana Studio 3, download it now if you haven’t already — http://aptana.com/products/studio3/download. We’re also looking forward to integrating it into our Titanium Studio product later this year. Stay tuned for more Appcelerator/Aptana goodness!
